Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig Sept. 21 in 1983) is an acclaimed American actress. She is most famously known for her role was the character Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost TV series as well as Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. She was born in Worthington in Ohio. She was kicked out of school after her parents divorced to go into Los Angeles to live with her mother. She landed her debut role in the film, Rachel's Room's main character in 2001, despite having a difficult time financially. Following her win of a Young Artist Award in 2002 for her performance as Murder In Greenwich of a 15-year old Martha Moxley as a murder victim, she went on to be awarded. Grace Rutherford was the main actress in Lost during its initial two seasons. In 2004, she won the Screen Actors Guild Award with the entire ensemble. The show ended in 2005 and Grace wanted to appear more prominently in film having been cast as the opposite of Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. The actress was on screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) as well as opposite Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in 2008. Taken 2 (2012), Taken 3 2014 and Taken 4 (2014) were her reprises of characters. Grace played the role of Shannon in two more episodes of Lost which included the finale of the series. Grace appeared on Californication's 6th season, which aired from 2013 until 2014. She plays Faith a groupie and an muse for the stars, who catches the interest of Hank Moody played by David Duchovny. Part of the Gyllenhaal family she is the daughter of film makers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs and is the younger sibling of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. When she was in her teens she appeared in small roles in films made by her father. She also she co-starred alongside her twin brother on Donnie Darko, a popular cult movie. The year 2002 saw her was featured as a character on Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. The actress also starred on Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received praise from critics for her lead performances in Secretary (2002, erotic romantic drama) as well as Sherrybaby (606) Both of which garnered their Golden Globe Award nods. After several commercially successful films in 2006, including World Trade Center she received more attention for her role as Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). Gyllenhaal was first introduced as a director and writer in 2021 with her psychological drama The Lost Daughter. For this movie, she received with the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and was nominated for an Academy Award.
