Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson grew up in Mexico in a family who was devoted to music. She grew up listening mostly to traditional music, old boleros, and traditional romantic and ranchero ballads. Ana loves tangos as well drama and opera. Ana began learning and singing music with her mother, then began more intense vocal training at the age of 16 with renowned Mexican tenor Flavio Becerra. Her musical education continued at the School of Music of Guadalajara University, and then the School of Sacred Music, Toluca. While a student, and when she was a professional young at the time in Mexico City and Guadalajara she sang with several chamber groups and choruses. When she moved to the United States, she performed as a member of the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Then in 2002 she moved to southern California. She currently is a part of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and often performs as a soloist of classical Latin American music at private occasions. As a teacher and musician, she is committed to various community-based projects because of her passion and love for music. Ana is also a previous part of the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana is privileged to have the opportunity to share with others her passion for the tradition of Latin American music. She hopes that this will inspire younger generations to keep the tradition alive.
